Nesite’s calcium sulphate raised floors have achieved Cradle to Cradle Certified®, a prestigious award issued by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, attesting to our concrete commitment to sustainability and the circular economy. After a complex analysis and evaluation process that lasted over a year, accompanied by Eco Intelligent Growth – an organization accredited to perform product evaluation under the C2C Certified™ Products program – the systems were classified Cradle to Cradle Certified® Full Scope Bronze Version 4.1, a level that confirms the quality of the materials used and the design oriented towards durability and reuse.

Throughout this entire Cradle to Cradle certification process with EIG, we realized that this is a virtuous journey that goes beyond mere product certification, addressing sustainability by evaluating not only materials, but also processes and people.

Performance of our systems according to Cradle to Cradle 4.1 parameters

01) Materials and Durability

The analysis of the materials used reveals a composition aimed at balancing natural resources and sustainability:

• Virgin materials: geological (60–90%), metallic (1–10%), petroleum-derived (1–2%).

• Durability: although the official warranty is 12 months, the system has proven to last far longer, with installations operating for over 25 years.

02) Recyclability and Disassembly

The design has been conceived to support a sustainable lifecycle. The flooring system is designed to be easily dismantled and reassembled thanks to reversible connections. Each product is accompanied by detailed instructions for disassembly and identification of homogeneous materials, thus facilitating recovery and reuse of components.

02) Safety and Certifications

The system has undergone rigorous testing to ensure material safety. Analyses conducted according to ISO 17025 standards have certified the absence of heavy metals and halogenated compounds. Furthermore, the product features an EPD declaration, including a detailed Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
